Job summary

Crofton House School in Vancouver seeks an experienced Music teacher to cover a maternity leave, joining a collaborative Junior School team and leading a dynamic choral program for Grades 4–7.

The ideal candidate holds a BC Teaching Certificate, has piano and vocal training, and experience teaching music to young children; Kodaly or Orff training is an asset, with a commitment to girl-centred education and ongoing professional development.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement a dynamic choral Music program at the Junior School (Grades 4–7).
• Develop vocal technique and musicality in girls.

• Collaborate with a teaching partner to plan and deliver instruction.
• Support diverse learners and adapt teaching strategies as needed.
• Direct choirs, concerts, and school performances.

Crofton House School is seeking an experienced Music teacher. You will be part of a collaborative teaching team supporting the positive growth and development of young girls in the Junior School. • Prepare Music for assemblies

• Support our Junior School Spring Musical with a team of teachers

Qualifications, Knowledge, Experience:

• B.C. Ministry of Education Certification
• Educational background that highlights Music
• Piano and vocal training required
• Experience in teaching Music with young children
• Independent school experience an asset
• Kodaly and/or Orff training an asset
• Demonstrated awareness of the learning styles of girls
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively
• Demonstrated ability to be innovative and flexible

Employment and Application Details:

Employees of Crofton House School receive competitive compensation and support for professional, educational and leadership development. Please note that applicants must be able to legally work in Canada and hold a valid BC Teaching Certificate. Applications will be reviewed as soon as they are received.

Compensation: $69,541 – $123,242 depending on experience and education level.
