Kativik Ilisarniliriniq (KI) seeks a bilingual Math and Sciences Teacher for Adult Education and Vocational Training in Kuujjuaq. The contract runs September to December 2026 with a possibility of renewal, and compensation ranges from $54,119 to $105,432 per year, prorated with task percentage.

Experience in adult education and literacy is preferred, with exposure to second-language instruction a plus. Qualifications include a Teacher’s Certificate / B.

SALARY: FROM $54,119 TO $105,432 DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

LOCATION: KUUJJUAQ

STATUS: CONTRACTUAL 400 HOURS

DURATION: SEPTEMBER TO DECEMBER 2026 (WITH A POSSIBILITY OF RENEWAL)

Kativik Ilisarniliriniq (KI) is a school board offering educational services in the 14 communities of Nunavik.

Qualifications

Teacher’s Certificate / B. Education, preferably with a major in one of the following subjects: Mathematics, Sciences.

The Board may, at its discretion, waive any or all the afore-mentioned qualification requirements if it finds a suitable candidate who is a beneficiary of the James Bay and Northern Québec Agreement and who accepts, as a condition of employment, to follow a training plan determined by the Board

Requirements

• Experience in adult education.
• Experience in literacy teaching.
• Experience in multi-level classes.
• Experience in teaching the following subjects: Mathematics, sciences and the Microsoft Suite
• Experience teaching in a second language environment would be an asset

Assets

• Knowledge and teaching of the MEES programs.

Classification / Salary / Benefits

Salary & benefits as per the Teachers Collective Agreement of the Board: from $54,119 to $105,432 annually depending on experience and qualifications. All benefits are prorated based on the percentage of the task.
