Job summary

Rural Roads Health Services (RRHS) is seeking a Ward Clerk for the Emergency Department at Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital. The temporary contract extends to about January 14, 2027, with schedule shifts including days, evenings, nights and weekends as needed.

Requires OSSD or equivalent, a 1-year Medical Office Assistant program, Medical Terminology and BLS. Cerner experience and strong privacy, communication and organizational skills are assets for this role.

Rural Roads Health Services (RRHS) is actively seeking applicants for a Ward Clerk position in the Emergency Department.

Location

The primary location for this position is: Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital

Contract Duration

The duration of this temporary contract would be until approximately January 14, 2027 or sooner, as determined by RRHS

Qualifications Required

• Ontario Secondary School Diplomas (OSSD) or equivalent acceptable to the hospital.
• Medical Office Assistant (1 year program certificate) or equivalent acceptable to the hospital.
• Medical Terminology is required.
• Current Basic Life Support Certificate is required.
• Previous Ward Clerk experience is considered an asset.
• Previous experience with Cerner is considered an asset.
• Proven ability to interact and communicate with team members, physicians, patients, visitors and volunteers.
• Strong organizational and computer skills are required.
• Strong communications skills, both written and verbal are required.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.
• Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis.

Compensation

• Salary per the UNIFOR collective agreement ($29.73 per hour to $30.32 per hour)

Salary: $29.73 - $30.32 per hour

Work Schedule

Must be available to work all shifts as required, which may include; weekends, statutory holidays, days, evenings and night shifts. Hours are subject to change based on operation needs of the hospital.
