Job summary

Armanino LLP is seeking a Practice Area Manager to act as the embedded operational partner to a Tax Practice Area Leader. The role uses financial and operational data to drive disciplined execution, remove obstacles, and ensure timely follow-through across the practice area.

The successful candidate will bring public accounting credibility, strong business judgment, and the ability to influence partners and senior leaders without direct authority, in a role focused on operational monitoring,

Qualifications

• 6+ years of public accounting or equivalent professional services experience
• Experience at Tax Manager level or above preferred
• Ability to influence partners and senior leaders without direct authority
• Strong analytical, organizational and communication skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and dashboards
• Ability to handle confidential information with sound judgment

Responsibilities

• Monitor key operating and financial measures across the practice area
• Turn dashboards and reports into clear priorities and follow‑up actions
• Conduct first- and second-level follow-up on operational expectations
• Coach leaders on administrative and operational expectations
• Maintain weekly operating cadence with the Practice Area Leader
• Coordinate with Resource Management on workforce strategy and capacity
• Partner with Billing, Finance, and shared services to drive resolution
• Support merger integration and onboarding activities
• Organize communication rhythm for partners and teams
• Identify training and process improvement opportunities
• Use AI tools to improve analysis and workflows
• Handle confidential personnel and financial information
