Job summary

Oakbridge Search Partners is seeking a Tax Manager for a rapidly growing multinational client. The role focuses on Canadian, U.S. and international taxation with exposure to mergers and acquisitions and cross-border planning.

The position reports to the Senior Tax Manager and supports a global tax function covering compliance, financial reporting, tax planning, and acquisition activity across jurisdictions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
  • Minimum of 4 years of progressive corporate tax experience, ideally combining public accounting and industry.
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian corporate income tax.
  • Experience with IFRS quarterly tax provisions.
  • Experience with Canadian corporate tax returns.
  • Familiarity with tax basis and surplus calculations is an asset.
  • CPA Canada In-Depth Tax Program is an asset.
  • Experience in multinational or acquisitive organization is an asset.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems, tax software, and Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the consolidated tax provision process for quarterly and annual financial reporting, including related tax disclosures under IFRS (IAS 12).
  • Prepare Canadian corporate income tax filings, including T2, T106, and T1134 returns.
  • Coordinate with international finance teams to ensure timely and accurate global tax compliance.
  • Participate in tax due diligence for mergers and acquisitions, identifying tax risks, planning opportunities, and transaction structuring considerations.
  • Research complex domestic and international tax matters and provide technical recommendations.
  • Support tax audits and correspondence with tax authorities.
  • Prepare technical memoranda supporting tax positions, reorganizations, and corporate restructuring initiatives.
  • Assist with integrating newly acquired businesses, including implementing tax compliance processes, financial reporting requirements, and governance standards.
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory tax developments and assess their impact on the organization.
  • Provide ongoing tax support to finance teams on operational and strategic matters.

Position Overview

Our client is seeking a Tax Manager to join its growing global tax team. This opportunity is ideal for a technically strong Canadian tax professional looking to expand into U.S. and international taxation while gaining meaningful exposure to mergers and acquisitions, cross-border tax planning, and multinational operations.

Reporting to the Senior Tax Manager, you will support a highly active global tax function responsible for compliance, financial reporting, tax planning, and acquisition integration across multiple jurisdictions. You'll collaborate with finance teams worldwide, manage external advisors, and participate directly in live acquisition activity.
