Job description

As part of the Finance team, the Senior Corporate Tax Specialist plays a key role in ensuring corporate tax compliance while providing strategic tax guidance to support business initiatives and risk management.

What You’ll Do
  • Prepare and file Canadian corporate tax returns and statutory tax reports in compliance with regulatory deadlines
  • Analyze the tax impact of business activities and transactions and recommend strategies to optimize tax efficiency
  • Monitor changes in federal, provincial, and local tax legislation and advise leadership on implications
  • Provide oversight and expertise related to environmental fees and related legislation across Canada
  • Interpret complex tax regulations and prepare technical analyses and reports
  • Maintain accurate tax records, documentation, and supporting schedules
  • Manage and support tax audits and inquiries with provincial and federal authorities
  • Assist with cross-border and U.S. tax reporting requirements as needed
  • Prepare correspondence and work closely with external auditors, tax authorities, and advisors
  • Support tax planning initiatives related to mergers, acquisitions, and international operations
What You Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field
  • 5+ years of progressive corporate tax experience in a complex or fast-paced environment
  • CPA or CA designation required (additional designations considered an asset)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with internal stakeholders and external partners
  • Advanced understanding of corporate tax principles, legislation, and compliance requirements
