Job summary

Diageo, the world’s leading premium drinks company, offers a Tax Co-op internship in Downtown Toronto for eight months (Sept 2026 start). You’ll assist in indirect tax returns, audits and compliance, gaining experience with the SAP General Ledger and tax processes.

We seek a student pursuing accounting, business or finance, with solid Excel/PowerPoint skills, teamwork, and the ability to work under tight deadlines. Flexibility and initiative are valued as you support the tax team.

Qualifications

  • Good accounting knowledge and prior tax, accounting or audit experience
  • Proficiency with Windows based applications (especially Microsoft Excel & PowerPoint)
  • Results oriented with demonstrated initiative and drive
  • Strong interpersonal & communications skills, and the ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to work under tight timelines and multi-tasking
  • Pursuing a degree in accounting, business or finance

(Tax Co-op Note: This is a 8 month contract position within our Canadian Tax team, beginning in September 2026.

About the role

As a Tax Co-op your primary responsibilities will include preparing indirect tax returns, assisting in various tax audits, assisting in commodity and income tax compliance, monitoring and following up on pension payments, preparing journal entries and balance sheet account reconciliations. In this position you will also assist the tax team with various projects and administration work. You will gain an understanding of how a Canadian Corporate Tax department works as well as acquiring experience working with the SAP General Ledger system and learning to navigate through various modules.
