David Aplin Recruiting seeks an experienced Talent Acquisition Specialist to join our Calgary team and support recruitment initiatives across the organization.

The role partners with hiring managers, manages multiple requisitions, proactively sources talent, and delivers a high-quality candidate experience throughout the full recruitment lifecycle from intake to onboarding.

Qualifications

  • 2–5+ years in Talent Acquisition or HR.
  • Experience managing full-cycle recruitment.
  • Proven partnership with hiring managers and business leaders.
  • Strong sourcing, screening, interviewing, and assessment skills.
  • Experience with an Applicant Tracking System (ATS).
  • Agency recruitment experience is considered an asset.
  • Experience recruiting in transportation, logistics, infrastructure, industrial, or construction environments is an asset.
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and requisitions in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the full-cycle recruitment process for assigned positions, from requisition intake through offer and onboarding.
  • Partner with hiring managers to understand workforce requirements, job responsibilities, team dynamics, and ideal candidate profiles.
  • Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies based on the position, labour market conditions, and hiring timelines.
  • Source and identify qualified candidates through LinkedIn, job boards, internal databases, employee referrals, networking, and other talent acquisition channels.
  • Conduct initial candidate screenings and competency-based interviews.
  • Develop proactive sourcing strategies to engage both active and passive candidates.
  • Build and maintain talent pipelines for recurring and hard-to-fill positions.
  • Leverage sourcing tools and channels including LinkedIn, job boards, social media, employee referrals, networking, and internal databases.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date candidate and requisition information within the ATS.
  • Ensure candidates are appropriately screened, advanced, and dispositioned throughout the recruitment process.
  • Provide a positive and professional candidate experience throughout all stages of recruitment.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure recruitment activities align with organizational priorities and hiring objectives.

Our client is seeking an experienced Talent Acquisition Specialist to join their Calgary team and play a key role in supporting recruitment initiatives across the organization.

This is an excellent opportunity for a recruitment professional who enjoys partnering closely with hiring managers, managing multiple requisitions, proactively sourcing talent, and delivering a high-quality candidate experience.

The successful candidate will serve as a trusted talent advisor and recruitment partner, supporting the full recruitment lifecycle from intake and sourcing through to offer, pre-employment requirements, and onboarding.

Key Responsibilities

Qualifications

  • Strong candidate sourcing, screening, interviewing, and assessment skills.
  • Experience working with an Applicant Tracking System (ATS).
  • Experience recruiting within transportation, logistics, infrastructure, industrial, or construction environments is an asset.
  • Agency recruitment experience is considered an asset.
  • Strong communication, relationship-building, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and requisitions in a fast-paced environment.
  • A proactive, consultative, and solutions-oriented approach to recruitment.
