In this role, you will be responsible for delivering end‑to‑end recruitment and onboarding services across the organization. Reporting to the HR Manager, Employee and Labour Relations, the Talent Acquisition Specialist plays a key role in attracting top talent, supporting workforce planning, and using data‑driven insights to enhance recruitment effectiveness and employee retention across Canada and the United States.

Major Responsibilities
Talent Acquisition & Recruitment
  • Own the full‑cycle recruitment process, including requisition intake, job postings, sourcing, screening, interviews, and offer letter preparation.
  • Source and attract candidates using job boards, professional networks, referrals, and targeted outreach strategies through platforms such as Indeed and LinkedIn.
  • Partner with hiring managers to understand operational needs and provide consultative recruitment support while ensuring compliance with legislation, internal policies, collective agreements, and standard operating procedures.
  • Support onboarding activities to ensure a positive and consistent new hire experience.
Workforce Planning, Data & Reporting
  • Track, analyze, and report on recruitment and workforce metrics, including headcount, turnover, time‑to‑fill, cost‑per‑hire, vacancy trends, and other key indicators.
  • Prepare regular reports and insights to support workforce forecasting, planning, and informed decision‑making.
  • Conduct stay and exit interviews, analyze trends, and provide recommendations to leadership to support retention strategies.
Collaboration & Compliance
  • Collaborate closely with HR colleagues to support issue resolution, share knowledge, and provide coverage during peak workload periods or employee absences.
  • Ensure recruitment activities align with employment equity initiatives and organizational objectives.
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism, confidentiality, and integrity in all interactions.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements

To succeed in this role, the successful candidate should have:

  • Post‑secondary degree in Human Resources Management or a related field.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of human resources experience, with a strong focus on full‑cycle recruitment.
  • Strong knowledge of recruitment best practices and strategic sourcing techniques.
  • Working knowledge of employment and labour standards, human rights, and privacy legislation in Canada and the United States.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret recruitment and workforce data and prepare clear, accurate reports.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, HRIS, recruitment systems, and other web‑based applications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with proficiency in both English and French.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective relationships across all levels of the organization.
  • Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and able to manage competing priorities with minimal supervision.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Working Conditions
  • Primarily office‑based work with extended periods of sitting and opportunities to move about.
  • Travel may be required across Canada and the United States to support recruitment campaigns and other HR initiatives.
  • Occasional work outside standard business hours to attend job fairs, employment webinars, or community events.
  • Regular focus on reviewing policies, procedures, collective agreements, and legislation.
  • The role involves time‑sensitive decision‑making with organizational impact.
Benefits
  • Comprehensive Health and Dental Coverage: Enjoy peace of mind with our extensive health and dental benefits, ensuring you and your family's well‑being.
  • Generous Paid Vacation: Recharge and relax with our generous paid vacation policy, providing you the time to unwind and come back refreshed. You are entitled to four (4) weeks upon hire, with further increases depending on length of service.
