Job summary

GardaWorld is hiring a Tactical Security Guard in Barrie, Ontario to provide safety and security at a social service centre serving vulnerable individuals. This temporary full-time role requires calm, decisive conflict management and the ability to work in high-stress environments.

The position offers a Tuesday to Saturday overnight schedule (00:00–08:00), a wage of $20.24/hour, and GardaWorld Academy training. Uniforms are provided, with opportunities for career growth within GardaWorld.

Qualifications

• Valid Security Guard License (required).
• First Aid & CPR certification (required).
• Criminal background check required.
• Ability to stand/walk for extended periods.
• Experience in shelter, healthcare, or community environments preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and secure environment for guests, staff and volunteers.
• Monitor entry and exit points; conduct bag checks if required.
• Enforce site policies and safety protocols respectfully and consistently.
• De-escalate conflicts.
• Respond to disturbances, medical emergencies, or safety concerns.
• Conduct regular patrols (interior and exterior).
• Document incidents and complete detailed reports.
• Liaise with emergency services when necessary.
• Support a respectful environment for individuals experiencing homelessness or crisis.

We are seeking a professional, alert, and community-mindedTactical Security Guard to provide safety and security services at a social service centre. The Centre offers temporary shelter and support services to vulnerable individuals.

This is a temporary assignment requiring strong conflict management skills, sound judgment, and the ability to work in high-stress environments while maintaining compassion and professionalism.

Position type: Temporary Full-time (ongoing untl further notice)

Schedule: Tuesday to Saturday: 00:00 - 08:00
