Placements24 in Kimberley is seeking a qualified Electrical Engineer specialized in Transmission & Distribution to design, develop and maintain the electrical grid infrastructure serving the Northern Cape region.

You will lead load flow and protection studies, manage projects from concept to commissioning, troubleshoot substation equipment, and ensure safety and standards, with opportunities for PE registration and professional development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Power Systems.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in transmission and distribution engineering.
• Proficiency with power system analysis software (ETAP, PSS/E).

Responsibilities

• Design, specify, and oversee the installation of high-voltage electrical equipment for transmission and distribution systems.
• Conduct load flow, fault analysis, and protection coordination studies for the grid network.
• Manage T&D projects from conception through to commissioning, ensuring adherence to budget and schedule.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to substation equipment and power lines.
• Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, safety regulations, and environmental policies.
• Collaborate with planning, operations, and construction teams to optimize grid performance.
