Job description

We're looking for a skilled and energetic Network and Systems Administrator to join our team. In the role of Network and Systems Administrator, you will be instrumental in the upkeep and advancement of our clients' varied IT frameworks. Your responsibilities include actively monitoring, maintaining, and supporting network systems, servers, and related technologies of our clientele. A key aspect of your role will be providing end-to-end customer service for network and system-related issues, aiming to fulfill business objectives. This role demands robust skills in troubleshooting, analysis, and diagnostics, coupled with effective communication capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Client Network Management: Implement, maintain, and troubleshoot network solutions for clients, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless systems. Ensure optimal performance and security of client networks.
  2. Server and Systems Administration: Manage and support client servers (Windows and Linux), including system installations, updates, and maintenance. Troubleshoot server-related issues and optimize system performance.
  3. Remote Monitoring and Management (RMM): Utilize RMM tools to proactively monitor client environments, identify potential issues, and perform routine maintenance tasks.
  4. Security and Compliance: Implement and manage security measures to protect client data and infrastructure. Ensure compliance with industry standards and client-specific security policies.
  5. Backup and Disaster Recovery: Manage and monitor backup solutions for clients. Develop and test disaster recovery plans to ensure business continuity.
  6. Client Support and Communication: Provide high-level technical support to clients. Communicate effectively with clients to identify needs and evaluate alternative business solutions.
  7. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and comprehensive documentation of client networks, systems, and processes. Prepare regular reports for both internal and client review.
  8. Vendor Management: Work with hardware and software vendors to resolve issues and manage warranties/service agreements.
  9. Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest technologies and trends to recommend improvements and enhancements to clients' IT environments.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in system and network administration, preferably in an MSP or similar environment.
  • Strong knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, DHCP, DNS), Windows Server environments, and Linux systems.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
  • Familiarity with cloud services (e.g., Azure, AWS) is advantageous.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, MCSE, CompTIA Network+) are highly desirable.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
