Job summary

Nascent is seeking a Systems Designer who loves solving messy problems and connecting the dots. You’ll think beyond individual screens, map systems and user journeys, and translate findings into clear requirements that guide design, development, QA, and delivery.

You’ll lead discovery with clients and internal teams, challenge assumptions, and help the team move from ambiguity to a practical path forward. This is a full‑time, in‑office role in Toronto, Canada.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in digital product development, business analysis, product design, ownership, strategy or systems design.
• Experience translating complex problems into flows, diagrams, journey maps or wireframes.
• Strong communication to explain complex ideas to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience working with clients or stakeholders to navigate ambiguity.
• Collaborative, low-ego approach and willingness to contribute wherever needed.

We’re looking for a Systems Designer who loves figuring things out and solving messy problems. Someone who asks the right questions, connects the dots, spots what’s missing, and helps the team get to the right solution.

You think beyond individual screens or features and look at the bigger picture. You bring structure to ambiguity, turn complex ideas into clear paths forward, and help clients and teams understand how everything fits together.

You’re curious, collaborative, and comfortable challenging assumptions. You enjoy working side by side with clients, designers, developers, QA and delivery to solve problems and make sure we’re solving the right ones.

• Working closely with design, development, QA and delivery to explore solutions, understand technical considerations, and navigate trade-offs.
• Staying involved through delivery, answering questions, resolving ambiguity, and helping ensure the solution stays true to the original intent.

What you bring to the table

• 5+ years of experience in digital product development, business analysis, product design, product ownership, product strategy, systems design or a related field.
• Experience working on digital products, ideally web and/or mobile.
• Experience translating complex problems into clear flows, diagrams, journey maps, wireframes, requirements or other artifacts that help teams understand how something should work.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex ideas clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience working directly with clients or stakeholders, facilitating conversations, and helping people work through ambiguity.
• A solid understanding of how digital products are designed and built, and how design, development, QA and delivery come together.
• A collaborative, low-ego approach. You’re willing to roll up your sleeves, share ideas, and help wherever the team needs you.

Salary Range

$100,000 - $120,000
