Job summary

Equisoft is seeking a Systems Administrator (Azure Cloud) in Canada to join a team of infrastructure specialists. You will administer, secure, and monitor environments in Azure, supporting development, test, and production systems while ensuring reliability and up-to-date configurations.

Work closely with the Product Development Manager and six other specialists. You’ll apply IaC and GitOps, manage access controls and certificates, and optimize cloud usage to reduce costs.

Qualifications

• Technical degree or diploma in computer engineering or IT.
• 5+ years of systems administration experience in Azure environments.
• Experience maintaining CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps).
• Strong knowledge of Linux and Windows Server administration, networking, storage, and databases; scripting skills.
• Solid understanding of security practices.
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Grafana/Prometheus/Loki.
• Fluent in French and English (spoken and written).

Responsibilities

• Administer, stabilize, and secure Azure-hosted environments; support development and support teams daily.
• Install, configure, patch, and upgrade servers, databases, and infrastructure components; automate tasks.
• Diagnose and resolve production incidents in coordination with teams.
• Manage accounts, access controls, certificates, and compliance; implement security best practices.
• Apply infrastructure as code and GitOps practices with Terraform, OpenTofu, FluxCD, ArgoCD.
• Monitor, optimize performance, availability, and security; provide proactive recommendations.
• Respond to requests, investigate issues, and apply corrective measures.
• Optimize cloud usage to reduce operating costs.

Role Overview

The Systems Administrator (Azure Cloud) reports to the Manager, Product Development, and works closely with 6 other infrastructure specialists. The incumbent is responsible for the administration, stability, and security of the environments hosted in Azure, supports the development and support teams day to day, and ensures that the systems behind our products are reliable, up to date, and well monitored.

Your Day at Equisoft

• Work with the development and support teams to support their environments (development, test, and production).
• Install, configure, patch, and upgrade servers (Linux and Windows), databases, and the infrastructure components that underpin our applications, and automate recurring tasks (scripts, scheduled tasks).
• Diagnose and resolve production incidents (servers, network, storage, performance) in coordination with the development and support teams.
• Manage accounts, access controls (Entra ID / Active Directory), certificates, and compliance, and implement security best practices across all environments.
• Apply infrastructure as code and GitOps best practices (Terraform, OpenTofu, FluxCD, ArgoCD).
• Monitor and optimize the performance, availability, and security of our systems, and make proactive recommendations.
• Respond to requests and investigate issues in order to apply corrective measures to the systems under your responsibility.
• Optimize cloud usage to reduce operating costs.

Requirements

• Technical Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering or information technology, or a college diploma.
• 5+ years of experience in systems administration (Linux and/or Windows Server) in Azure environments.
• Experience maintaining existing CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps).
• Strong knowledge of Linux and Windows Server administration, networking (DNS, firewalls, VPN, load balancing), storage, and databases, as well as scripting (Bash, PowerShell, or Python).
• Solid understanding of security practices.
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools (Grafana, Prometheus, Loki, or equivalents).
• Excellent knowledge of French and English (spoken and written).
