Job summary

Scarborough Transit Connect (STC), a joint venture between Aecon and FCC Canada, invites a seasoned rail engineer to join the SSE-SRS package in Toronto. You will coordinate design groups, attend meetings, and help develop standard maintenance and operating procedures for subway systems.

The role requires a diploma in electrical or civil engineering and 2–3+ years in rail projects, with strong report writing and documentation skills and familiarity with subway interfaces and operational

Qualifications

• Diploma in electrical or civil engineering or similar program.
• Proactive, organized and goal-oriented with strong communication and coordination skills.
• 2–3+ years of experience in rail and transit projects.
• Strong technical background in report writing and documentation.
• Understanding of subway systems and multidisciplinary system interfaces.
• Experience with handover and project closeout is a significant asset.
• Understanding of operational readiness and O&M requirements.

Who We Are:

Scarborough Transit Connect (STC) is a joint venture between Aecon and FCC Canada Ltd. that was selected by Metrolinx to deliver the Scarborough Subway Extension – Stations, Rail and Systems (SSE-SRS) package. The Scarborough Subway Extension will bring the TTC’s Line 2 subway service nearly eight kilometers farther into Scarborough. It will extend from Kennedy Station to Sheppard Avenue and McCowan Road, providing quick and seamless transit for those heading into and out of the downtown core and those travelling within Scarborough. The extension will replace Line 3 (the Scarborough RT), helping to reduce travel times and improve access to jobs, schools, and other key destinations throughout the city.

What You Will Do:

• Interacting with design groups to ensure coordination between the relevant subway systems
• Coordinating and attending meetings; taking and distributing meeting minutes with accuracy
• Creating presentations to support the collaborative effort of the design teams
• Interacting with stakeholders in person and online
• Developing a working understanding of systems that are required for subway operations
• Conduct reviews of design documents and supplier provided OEM manuals to develop standard O&M procedures with collaboration with all stakeholders
• Support the development of standard maintenance and operating procedures for subway systems

Experience You Will Bring:

• Diploma in electrical or civil engineering or similar program.
• A proactive, organized and goal-oriented approach with strong communication and coordination skills with excellent use of Microsoft office products
• 2-3+ years of experience in rail and transit projects
• Strong technical background in report writing and documentation
• Understanding of subway systems and multidisciplinary system interfaces
• Experience with handover and project closeout is a significant asset
• An understanding of operational readiness and O&M requirements

Compensation: $105,000 - $115,000 annually. The listed salary range reflects potential base pay and considers factors such as experience, education, and training. Each candidate is evaluated individually and offers toward the higher end may be extended to those with exceptional qualifications.
