Job summary

Curtiss‑Wright in Ottawa, Canada is seeking an IT Systems Administrator to protect enterprise data, manage user access, and maintain network and device performance. You will install hardware and software, perform backups, enforce security controls, and support a compliant, high-availability environment.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures the integrity and security of enterprise data on host computers, multiple databases, and during data transfer in accordance with privacy, security, and regulatory compliance.
  • Sets end user accounts, permissions, access rights, and storage allocations in accordance with privacy, security, and regulatory compliance best practices.
  • Installs and configures software and hardware.
  • Ensures security through access controls, backups, and firewalls.
  • Performs and tests routine system backups and restores.
  • Identifies, troubleshoots, and resolves hardware and software problems on desktops, servers, printers, and workstations; escalates incidents as necessary.
  • Practices network asset management and maintains inventory and related documentation and technical specifications.
  • Analyses system, server, application, network, and input/output device performance.
  • Recommends, schedules, and performs software and hardware upgrades, patches, reconfigurations, and/or purchases.
  • Implements and helps enforce cybersecurity frameworks (e.g. NIST SP 800 171, CMMC, ISO 27001).

Your Challenge

Practices network asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory and related documentation and technical specifications information. Analyzes system, server, application, network, and input/output device performance. Recommends, schedules, and performs software and hardware improvements, upgrades, patches, reconfigurations, and/or purchases. Implements and help enforce compliance to cybersecurity frameworks applicable to defense suppliers (e.g. NIST SP 800 171, CMMC, ISO 27001).

Your Expertise

Technical knowledge of network and PC, operating systems and hardware, local area network administration
Hands‑on software and hardware troubleshooting experience
Customer service orientation
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high‑pressure environment
Experience documenting and maintaining configuration and process information preferred
