Job summary

Interior Health Authority in Cranbrook, BC seeks a Casual Switchboard Operator Receptionist to join East Kootenay Regional Hospital. The role covers rotating days, evenings and nights from 07:00 to 19:00 and 19:00 to 07:00, with days off on a rotating schedule.

You will operate the switchboard, direct patients, admit during off-hours, manage payments and perform clerical tasks. This casual position offers on-call flexibility and opportunities for growth within the hospital system.

Qualifications

• A 5-minute typing test (45+ NWPM) from a recognized institution, completed within the past 48 months.
• Medical Terminology Certificate is required.
• Resume outlining two year’s recent related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Cover Letter stating availability to start in a new position and on-call, casual work.

• Receive and direct patients and visitors; admit patients during evenings, nights and weekends.
• Receive, record and account for various monies owing; perform clerical duties.
