Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. in Lloydminster, AB is hiring a Swing Driver to join our local team. You will operate a Front Load collection truck along approved routes and ensure safe, compliant waste collection across multiple lines of business.

Qualifications

• Valid Commercial Driver’s License (3Q or above) with a clean Driver’s Abstract and CVOR.
• Minimum 1 year of commercial driving experience (or completion of an accredited truck driving school program).
• Demonstrated ability to safely operate heavy commercial collection vehicles and hydraulic packer systems.
• Ability to satisfy safety-sensitive operational standards.
• Strong attendance record and flexibility for early morning start schedules and overtime.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a Front Load collection truck along assigned routes.
• Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections daily and complete required trip logs and paperwork.
• Collect commercial waste materials in strict accordance with route schedules and corporate safety protocols.
• Operate hydraulic and compaction systems using proper techniques to prevent equipment damage.
• Promptly report any mechanical write-ups, route hazards, or safety incidents to management.
• Maintain high route productivity, customer service standards, and vehicle cleanliness.
• Adhere to traffic laws, municipal bylaws, company safety policies, and required PPE standards.
• Work closely with Helpers and Supervisors to support smooth, efficient daily operations.
• Perform other operational duties as assigned by leadership.
