Job summary

Westcoast Family Centres Society is seeking a temporary, full-time Team Leader for Supervised Access Services (SVA) to oversee programs in Vancouver and the North Shore during a 12-month maternity leave contract. The role focuses on leadership, supervision, and ensuring high-quality service delivery.

You will supervise SVA staff, participate in hiring, manage referrals, and ensure compliance with the collective agreement and agency policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Child & Youth Care, or a related field.
• Master’s degree is an asset.
• Minimum five years of experience working with families or other vulnerable populations.
• Minimum one year of experience in a senior supervisory role, preferably in management.
• Training in Non-Violent Communications (NVC) preferred.
• Criminal record check prior to employment, and subject to regular review.
• Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle with adequate insurance (business level).

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership, supervision, evaluation and support for SVA employees in Vancouver and the North Shore.
• Actively participate in the screening, hiring, and orientation of new employees.
• Assume professional responsibility for the quality of work delivered by individual SVA staff and the team.
• Foster and maintain a strong, safe, and supportive team environment.
• Work within the parameters of the collective agreement and WFC policies and procedures.
• Participate in financial management, monitoring and evaluation of SVA services.
• Participate in the accreditation and quality assurance of service delivery.
• Oversee SVA referrals, allocation, visit scheduling, case monitoring and reporting to meet agency quality standards and approved supervision requirements.
• Gather client and stakeholder feedback to support consistent quality of SVA services.
• Develop and maintain relationships with referring social workers, funders and community partners to support coordinated SVA delivery.
• Provide support during incidents and crisis situations arising in SVA services.
• Ensure compliance with legislation and regulation for both work environment and practice.
• Ensure the highest professional standards of ethics and confidentiality.
• Participate in the on-call rotation for out of hour services.
• Other duties related to SVA service delivery as required.
