Sustainability & Resilience Reporting Analyst

Location: Burnaby, BC

Compensation: $78,073.75 - $89,127.26 annually

Position Summary

Reporting to the Director Sustainability & Resilience, the analyst is responsible for data collection, data integrity, analysis, auditing, research, and report writing to support work and policies related to sustainability and resilience for the Commission. The analyst provides analytical support and research on sustainability and resilience initiatives, including but not limited to BC Housing’s Service Plan and Sustainability and Resilience Strategy. The role ensures compliance with the Climate Change Accountability Act reporting and verification obligations, delivers research and analytical projects, and supports the transition of social housing and the residential construction industry toward sustainability and resilience.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Business Administration, Urban Planning, Geography or a related discipline.
• Considerable experience in research, report writing and developing research methodologies.
• Some experience in sustainability and resilience program evaluation.
• Or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience accepted by the Employer.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Considerable knowledge of Greenhouse Gas reporting protocols such as the GHG Protocol, ISO 14064 or the Climate Registry.
• Considerable knowledge of ESG reporting frameworks such as Global Reporting Initiative (GRI).
• Considerable knowledge of current sustainability trends related to climate change mitigation and adaptation.
• Considerable knowledge of sustainability reporting best practices and guidelines.
• Some knowledge of green building trends and technologies.
• Ability to communicate data effectively to a broad audience.
• Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
• Analytical ability to identify errors and make corrections.
• High level of self‑awareness, empathy and emotional intelligence.
• Familiarity with the affordable housing sector in BC.
• Understanding of BC Housing’s mandates and commitments related to housing, sustainability, Reconciliation, Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging.
• Sensitivity to diverse stakeholder perspectives and collaborative problem‑solving skills.
• Awareness of institutional and structural exclusion and bias.
• Strategic and analytical thinking, problem‑solving, and organizational and time‑management skills.
• Excellent professional and interpersonal communication skills across written, oral and other channels.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially advanced skills in Excel for pivot tables, graphs and charts.
