Job summary

Aecon Civil is seeking Surveyors to coordinate and lay out construction projects with high accuracy, aligning with design criteria and documenting results across Canada and the U.S. You will maintain control networks, calibrate equipment, and provide clear layout at various stages of development.

Ideal candidates have post-secondary education in Surveying or Geomatics, GPS and total-station experience, and knowledge of surveying software.

  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and lift 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and verify provided control network.
  • Ensure equipment is maintained and calibrated.
  • Coordinate and undertake planning and implementation of survey requirements to facilitate construction activities.
  • Maintain accurate survey records, documentation, and stamped submittals.
  • Provide layout at various stages of construction.
  • Monitor, organize, and manage survey operations and personnel.
  • Provide clear communication with clients in a professional manner.
  • Manage as-built information and digital records.

Surveyors will be responsible for coordinating and laying out various aspects of construction projects with a high level of accuracy, ensuring the design criteria is adhered to and well documented.

What You'll Do Here

What You Bring To The Team
  • Post-secondary education in Surveying, Geomatics, or Civil Engineering.
  • Knowledge of survey practices and standards.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in the construction surveying industry would be considered an asset.
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency in the use of office, data, surveying, and engineering-based software.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of engineering design and survey methods.
  • GPS and total station experience required.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Available to travel to various projects.
  • Valid Driver’s License (Class G).

Reason for Vacancy: New

The expected pay range for this role is $25 - $40 per hour.

Individual pay is determined based on several factors, including work location, education, experience, unique skills and job conditions. Other considerations may include certifications, specialized training, and the complexity or scope of the role.
