Job summary

Aecon Civil is seeking a Continuous Improvement professional to support lean practices on our Vancouver infrastructure projects. You will help implement Last Planner System, coordinate planning activities, and drive safety, efficiency, and value across project teams.

You bring 1–3 years in construction or related fields, strong Microsoft Office skills, and a collaborative mindset. This full-time on-site role offers growth, competitive compensation, and a path to expert level professional

Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of experience in Continuous Improvement, Construction, Engineering, Project Controls, or Project Coordination.
  • Experience on construction or infrastructure projects is an asset.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

  • Support lean implementation across projects.
  • Assist with Last Planner System application.
  • Coordinate pull planning, lookahead planning, weekly work planning, and continuous improvement.
  • Support constraint identification, tracking, and resolution.
  • Assist in planning problem-solving workshops using structured methods.
  • Track actions from improvement initiatives and verify completion.
  • Support A3 problem solving, PDCA, and root cause analyses.
  • Coordinate lessons learned collection and follow-up.
  • Train project teams on Waste Walk and waste elimination.

What You'll Do Here
  • Support the implementation and sustainment of lean practices across assigned projects.
  • Assist project teams with the application of the Last Planner System (LPS).
  • Coordinate Pull Planning, Lookahead Planning, Weekly Work Planning, and Continuous Improvement activities.
  • Support constraint identification, tracking, and resolution processes.
  • Assist in planning and facilitating problem-solving workshops using structured methodologies.
  • Track actions arising from improvement initiatives and verify completion with action owners.
  • Support implementation of A3 problem solving, PDCA, Root Cause Analysis, and other continuous improvement tools.
  • Coordinate lessons learned collection, documentation, and follow-up activities.
  • Train project support and construction personnel on Waste Walk and waste elimination methodologies and provide oversight where required.
What You Bring To The Team
  • Post-secondary education in Engineering or Business.
  • 1-3 years of experience in Continuous Improvement, Construction, Engineering, Project Controls, or Project Coordination.
  • Experience on construction or infrastructure projects is considered an asset.
  • Experience supporting workshops, reporting, or process improvement initiatives is an asset.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Effective organizational skills to meet multiple deadlines and handle multiple tasks in a high-pressure work environment.
  • Perform work safely and effectively. Understand and follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use, and other policies.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Valid Driver’s License.

Reason for Vacancy: New

The expected pay range for this role is $60,000 - $80,000 per year.

Individual pay is determined based on several factors, including work location, education, experience, unique skills and job conditions. Other considerations may include certifications, specialized training, and the complexity or scope of the role.
