Job summary

Aecon Group Inc. in the GTA is seeking a cooperative education student to join the project design team on a major civil project.

You will assist with design calculations, prepare drawings, schedules and construction packages, and help maintain project documentation. You will bring an enrolled Civil Engineering or Construction Management diploma, good interpersonal skills, and the ability to work with a large team in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a university or technical college diploma in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
• Experience in the construction industry is a strong asset.
• Excellent interpersonal communication (oral and written) skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills in communicating with a large team.
• Organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to prioritize and multi-task.
• Service-oriented and adaptable to deadlines.
• AutoCAD skills are an asset.

Responsibilities

• Assist with design calculations and drawings meeting code and regulation requirements.
• Assist in the preparation of schedules, estimates and construction packages.
• Maintain files and correspondence on active and completed projects.
• Assist in the coordination and submission of as-built drawings.
• Gather field information and assist in the preparation of project bill of materials.
• Administrative duties such as filing, typing, copying, binding, scanning and plotting.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as required.

Reason for Vacancy: New

The expected pay range for this role is $23 - $28 per hour.

Individual pay is determined based on several factors, including work location, education, experience, unique skills and job conditions. Other considerations may include certifications, specialized training, and the complexity or scope of the role
