The Superintendent will ensure the project is delivered on schedule and to safety, quality and workmanship standards, guiding foremen and crews, coordinating with owners, consultants and subcontractors.

Qualifications

• 10+ years on major projects, transit experience preferred.
• 8+ years in a supervisory position in construction.
• Experience leading self-perform and subcontracted crews.
• Experience managing projects ranging from $100M to $500M.
• Thorough knowledge of OH&S legislation.
• Strong multitasking, leadership and communication skills.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to work weekends/night shifts.
• Background checks required.

• Support the Project Management team to prepare Work Plans, Method Statements and Lift Plans.

The Superintendent is responsible for ensuring the Project is delivered on schedule, within contract requirements while meeting all safety, quality, and workmanship standards. The role also includes leading all Foremen and workers associated to the scope of work with a combination of self‑perform and subcontracted workforce.

This role will lead the execution of multiple activities in a major infrastructure project in a dense urban environment.

What You’ll Do Here

• Maintain site layout and develop plan for logistics around work areas.
• Lead works on site by implementing strict safety policies.
• Support the Project Management team to prepare Work Plans, Method Statements and Lift Plans required for lifting operations.
• Serve as a site authority by making sure works on site are done in accordance with Work Plans and Drawings.
• Supervise, coordinate and monitor workforce assigned to its specific scope of work.
• Maintain good relationship with unions and address disputes, conflicts and grievances.
• Develop and maintain relationships with owners, consultants and subcontractors.
• Ensure Aecon’s corporate health and safety program and quality control plans are adhered to along with project‑specific and local legislative site regulations and requirements.
• Accountable for compliance with union agreements.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as required.

What You Bring To The Team

• 10+ years of experience in major projects, transit preferred.
• Past experience with concrete works, utilities, shoring and/or shafts excavation required.
• 8+ years of experience in a supervisory position in the construction industry.
• Proven experience leading projects with excellent safety scores and the ability to review risks and hazards associated with the scope of work.
• Past exposure leading self‑perform works with a focus on assigning, coordinating and leading crews required by the scope of work.
• Experienced in managing projects ranging from $100 million up to $500 million.
• Thorough knowledge of the applicable OH&S legislation.
• Exceptional ability to multitask in a dynamic and fast‑paced environment.
• Strong interpersonal, leadership and communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
• Must maintain a valid driver’s license.
• Ability to work the project schedule which may include weekends and/or night shift.
• Background checks required.

The expected pay range for this role is $120,000 - $160,000 per year.

Individual pay is determined based on several factors, including work location, education, experience, unique skills and job conditions. Other considerations may include certifications, specialized training, and the complexity or scope of the role.
