Job summary

Wilco Contractors Northwest Inc. in Edmonton seeks a skilled Surveyor to join our field team and deliver precise measurements for civil projects.

You will perform preliminary and as-built surveys, establish survey control, and create accurate notes and drawings to support construction progress. Candidate will leverage GPS, total stations, CAD tools, and Trimble software, collaborate with the site superintendent, and maintain data integrity and reports.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of survey experience
  • Strong understanding of GPS, machine control, total stations, and electronic data collection
  • Experience with CAD and survey software
  • Knowledge of Trimble GPS and Total Station is an asset
  • Experience designing and implementing digital terrain models
  • Experience with Trimble Business Centre, TCC, Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of LIDAR is an asset
  • Strong critical thinking, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Class 5 drivers license and a clean driving record

Responsibilities

  • Complete accurate quantity takeoffs, reviews and reconciliations
  • Perform preliminary, construct and as-built surveys
  • Interpret design drawings and develop survey strategies
  • Accurate survey notes, sketches and data backup
  • Precise installation of stake lines and survey control
  • Distribute survey reports and manage survey data files
  • Work with site superintendent to complete field survey requests, measurements, setup and configuring survey instruments
  • Perform topographic surveys to document construction progress

Core Key Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Solid understanding of GPS, machine control, total stations, and electronic data collection
  • Experience with CAD and Survey software is considered and asset
  • Knowledge of Trimble GPS, Total station, Trimble is considered an asset
  • Experience designing and implementing digital terrain models
  • Experience with Trimble Business Centre, TCC, Microsoft Office
  • Understanding of LIDAR considered an asset
  • Strong critical thinking, trouble shooting and problem-solving skills
  • Class 5 drivers license and a clean drivers abstract
