Jim Dent Construction is seeking a Survey Technician to support a heavy civil project in the Fraser Valley region. The role involves field data collection, layout of complex structures, topographical surveys and control point establishment across multiple sites.

Candidates should have 2+ years as a surveyor, be proficient with Trimble GNSS and Robotic equipment, and hold a Geomatics/Land Survey Technology diploma with a valid Class 5 license. The work includes safety and environmental compliance.

Qualifications

• 2+ years experience as a construction surveyor.
• Must be proficient with Trimble GNSS and Robotic equipment.
• Completion of a Geomatics or Land Survey Technology diploma (1–2 years).
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Record field data and interpret construction drawings.
• Perform precise field layouts and calculations for layouts.
• Conduct topographical surveys and establish control points.
• Use CAD for quantity calculations and road alignments.
• Operate GPS setups and Total Station/GNSS survey equipment.
• Maintain safety and environmental plans on site.
