Job summary

Global Raymac Surveys is a growing geomatics firm providing surveying services on energy, infrastructure, and community projects across Canada. You will direct field crews, ensure accurate data collection, and contribute to project success in urban and rural settings.

The role emphasizes safety, collaboration, and state-of-the-art surveying technology, with strong growth opportunities and professional development. Wages are commensurate with experience and field exposure.

Qualifications

  • Diploma/Degree in surveying and geomatics or equivalent experience.
  • Up to 5 years of previous experience in a similar role or equivalent education/experience.
  • Strong spatial recognition and problem-solving in field environments.
  • Experience with Trimble equipment, laser scanning, drones and line locating is an asset.
  • Effective verbal and written communication; reading abilities to follow instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Direct the field crew to complete projects accurately, timely and safely.
  • Understand project objectives, budgets, schedules and timeframes.
  • Lead field crew; prepare accurate notes, sketches and field data.
  • Conduct conventional and GNSS field surveys for engineering, construction, or legal projects.
  • Interpret drawings for layout and as-built survey purposes.
  • Work with laser scanners and drones on construction/engineering projects as assets.
  • Assist in HSE and Quality Management reporting and audits.
  • Document project scope changes and communicate them to the Project Manager.

Role Summary

Reporting to a Project Manager, you will direct the field crew to complete projects in an accurate, timely, and efficient manner to meet contractual obligations. You will also be involved in engineering, construction, or legal surveying in urban and/or rural areas.

Responsibilities & Duties
  • Take direction from the Project Manager to understand the following: project objectives, allocated budgets, goals, schedules, and timeframes.
  • Communicate scope and schedule information to team members, set expectations, and ensure project tasks are completed on time.
  • Lead Field crew and prepare accurate notes, sketches and field data.
  • Conduct conventional and GNSS field surveys of various types of surveys including engineering, construction, and legal projects
  • Interpret Architectural and Engineering drawings for layout and as‑built survey purposes.
  • Work with laser scanners and drones on various construction and engineering projects an asset.
  • Participate in HSE and Quality Management reporting, inspections, investigations, audits, andreviews.
  • Understand and document project scope changes requested by the client and communicate this to the Project Manager.
  • Represent our client, Global Raymac, and yourself in a professional and courteous manner at alltimes.

Education, Technical Skills & Experience
  • Diploma/Degree in a post-secondary program related to surveying and geomatics or an equivalent experience.
  • Up to 5 years of previous experience in a similar role, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong and proven spatial recognition andproblem-solving skills in a field environment.
  • Experience of Trimble equipment and software, laser scanning, drones and line locating considered an asset.
  • Basic computer operation for email, spreadsheets, and searchfunctions.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with the capacity to produce accurate and legible field notes. Reading ability is required, e.g., to follow written instructions.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license in accordance with Global Raymac’s Driver and Vehicle Safety Policy.
