Job summary

The Gateway Casinos and Entertainment Limited is seeking a Surveillance Supervisor to oversee surveillance activities and staff, ensuring safety of guests and team members. You will investigate potential security violations and take corrective actions within the law.

Based at Starlight Casino in Edmonton, you will lead a team, monitor CCTV operations, train employees, and coordinate with security and operations to protect assets and uphold standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of supervisory experience in casino/hospitality preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedures.
• Able to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Comfortable speaking before guests or staff.
• Reliability, diligence and integrity.
• Self-motivated and team-oriented.
• Meticulous in all duties.
• Confident in judgement and writing findings.

Responsibilities

• Protect company assets by observing activities via surveillance cameras.
• Review video footage on cases of disputes.
• Complete daily activity reports and note pertinent facts.
• Monitor recording equipment and ensure operation.
• Provide work direction and supervision to agents.
• Recommend personnel for hire, termination, and disciplinary action.
• Conduct routine training on casino operations and equipment.
• Assign and apportion work among team members.
• Plan work processes and determine effective techniques.
• Supervise and manage work processes of team members.
• Address disciplinary issues and manage performance, including progressive discipline.
• Handle complaints and concerns from team members.

Key Responsibilities

• Protect company assets by observing the activities of employees and customers via surveillance cameras.
• Review video footage on cases of patron/internal control disputes.
• Complete daily activity report and note any pertinent facts.
• Monitor recording equipment and check equipment operation.
• Provide work direction and supervision to agents.
• Recommend personnel for hire, termination, and disciplinary action.
• Conduct routine training on casino operations and equipment.
• Assign and apportion work to be done among team members.
• Plan work processes and determine effective techniques or processes to be used by team members in the course of business.
• Supervise and manage the work processes or procedures of team members.
• Understand and adhere to disciplinary policies including but not limited to counselling team members and the use of progressive discipline to modify poor performance.
• Address and manage complaints, grievances or concerns from team members.

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Able to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Comfortable speaking before guests or staff.

• Self-motivated and contribute positively to a team environment.
• Are meticulous in all areas of your duties.
• Confidence in your judgement and ability to write findings clearly.
