Job summary

Robertson Human Asset Management seeks a seasoned medical device sales professional to drive coverage for human and veterinary product lines in Greater Montreal and surrounding Quebec regions. You will engage orthopedists, surgeons, veterinarians, and hospital buyers with consultative, patient-specific solutions.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in medical device sales, a bilingual (French/English) capability, and strong relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

  • Drive sales growth for human and veterinary product lines within Greater Montreal and Quebec.
  • Present and promote devices to orthopedists, surgeons, veterinarians, and procurement teams.
  • Partner with medical professionals to evaluate surgical needs and propose patient-specific solutions.
  • Build relationships with KOLs and hospital decision-makers for long-term collaboration.
  • Conduct product demonstrations and training in ORs and clinics; attend trade shows.
  • Manage sales cycles and CRM records; track leads and opportunities.
  • Convey clinical feedback to R&D for product improvement.

ABOUT THE COMPANY

Our client is a Canadian patient-specific medical device manufacturer specializing in the design, development, and production of highly innovative, specialized products for human and veterinary medicine. With over 10 years of medical engineering expertise, they offer standard and custom orthopedic solutions, surgical instruments, titanium and PEEK implants, cutting guides, and specialized surgical accessories. Headquartered in Quebec, they collaborate directly with surgeons, clinical specialists, and veterinary professionals across North America to transform surgical challenges into tailored, cutting-edge engineering solutions.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Territory Growth & Sales Execution: Drive sales expansion and market share growth for human and veterinary product lines within Greater Montreal and surrounding Quebec regions.

  • Surgeon & Specialist Engagement: Present, demonstrate, and promote specialized medical devices, implants, custom cutting guides, and surgical instruments directly to orthopedists, surgeons, veterinarians, and hospital procurement teams.

  • Consultative Technical Selling: Partner directly with medical professionals to evaluate complex surgical needs and advocate for custom, patient-specific engineering solutions.

  • Relationship Management: Build and maintain long-term relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), early-adopter surgeons, clinic directors, and key decision-makers.

  • Clinical Training & Demonstrations: Conduct product demonstrations, in-service training sessions, and educational workshops in operating rooms, veterinary clinics, and industry trade shows.

  • Account & Pipeline Management: Manage sales cycles, track lead pipelines, and maintain up-to-date customer records using CRM systems.

  • Feedback & R&D Collaboration: Gather clinical insights and market feedback to collaborate directly with internal engineering and R&D teams for continuous product innovation.


Requirements

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

Education & Training


  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Biomedical Engineering, Health Sciences, Kinesiology, or a related discipline.

  • Formal training in medical device compliance, surgical safety, or consultative sales methodologies is considered a strong asset.


Work Experience & Accomplishments


  • 5+ years of proven success in medical device sales, surgical account management, or veterinary medical sales.

  • Proven track record of consistently meeting or exceeding sales quotas and expanding territory accounts.

  • Demonstrated experience navigating hospital purchasing processes, OR environments, or specialized veterinary clinics.

  • Bilingualism: Full fluency in both written and spoken French and English is required.

  • Clinical & Technical Aptitude: Ability to understand complex surgical procedures quickly, 3D design concepts, and technical device specifications.

  • Relationship Building & Negotiation: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to build trust with surgeons, specialists, and administrative decision-makers.

  • Autonomy & Mobility: Self-motivated team player with strong time-management skills, a valid driver's license, and willingness to travel across the local territory.
