Job summary

William Osler Health System in Brampton, ON is seeking a Surgical Supply Chain Technician for the Corp OR Business Center. This permanent, full-time role supports purchasing of goods, services, minor and capital equipment across multiple sites within the Surgical Services program.

• Diploma/certification in related supply chain management or/and quality/auditing field required.
• Medical terminology course required.
• Minimum two years experience in supply chain environment.
• Minimum three years inventory management experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of surgical procedures.
• Working knowledge of surgical instrumentation (mandatory).
• Knowledge of contracts.
• Working knowledge of OR Manager program.
• Experience with PO rectification and Finance.
• Knowledge of medical/surgical supplies and equipment.
• Excellent communication skills both oral and written.
• Intermediate Excel skills.
• Physical ability involving heavy lifting,pushing, pulling,bending and reaching.
• Ability to travel between Osler sites.

Under the direction of the Business Manager, Surgical Program, theSurgical Supply Chain Technician will have delegated authority for the purchasing of goods, services, minor and capital equipment in the most efficient and cost effective manner consistent with user needs and in compliance with hospital policies.

Accountabilities:

• Coordinate all clinical and non-clinical supply ordering and receiving
• Provide back up to other staff as needed
  • Diploma/certification in related supply chain management or/and quality/auditing field required
  • Medical terminology course required or previous working experience in hospital/health care organization
  • Minimum of two years experience working within a supply chain environment
  • Minimum of three years inventory management experience preferred
  • Working knowledge of surgical procedures
  • Working knowledge of surgical instrumentation (mandatory)
  • Working knowledge of implant inventory is an asset
  • Knowledge of contracts
  • Working knowledge and experience of adjusting par levels preferred
  • Working knowledge of OR Manager program
  • Working knowledge of rectifying PO's and Finance
  • Demonstrated knowledge of medical/surgical supplies and equipment
  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written
  • Demonstrated Microsoft Office including minimum intermediate Excel skills and handheld barcode technology
  • Physical requirement involving heavy lifting, pushing, pulling, bending and reaching
  • Ability to deal with high activity with frequent interruptions
  • Demonstrated skills in analysis, statistical record keeping and report writing
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent attendance and work record
  • Ability to work and travel between all Osler sites

Hours: Currently Days 8 hour shifts including weekends and statutory holidays (subject to change in accordance with operational requirements)

Onsite First: Roles that frequently support direct patient care and have dedicated hours when they are available to patients, team members and/or other partners.

Salary:
Minimum: $32.68 per hour
Maximum: $36.62 per hour
