Position Overview

Working as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team, the Surgical Care Nurse functions as an experienced, self-directed nurse by assessing, planning, providing, and evaluating nursing care for assigned patients.

Qualifications: Education, Training, and Experience

• Registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN registrant;
• Post-basic education in surgical/ambulatory care nursing on a unit-specific basis; or
• An equivalent combination of education and training;
• Up to two (2) years recent, related experience on a unit-specific basis;
• Basic Life Support, Level C.
