Foran Mining Corporation (TSX:FOM) is a forward‑thinking mining company redefining the industry. We are seeking a Mill & Surface Trainer to join our growing McIlvenna Bay team. This is a full‑time position based at the McIlvenna Bay site working either a 4/3, 7/7 or 14/14 rotation.

The McIlvenna Bay Cu‑Zn‑Au‑Ag deposit is one of the largest undeveloped VHMS deposits in Canada. Foran recently announced (2024) approval by the Board of Directors for the project to proceed to the formal construction phase with initial production expected in Q4 2025. The McIlvenna Bay deposit’s core commodities are critical for the global transition to green energy and Foran aims to extract these critical minerals in a sustainable manner by empowering local communities, contributing to circular economies and protecting the environment for future generations.

As part of the Health & Safety Team, the primary responsibility is to assist the Training Coordinator in identifying training needs and designing and delivering comprehensive training programs for employees, contractors, and stakeholders. You will develop engaging materials, conduct interactive sessions, evaluate their effectiveness, and ensure compliance with safety regulations while fostering proactive safety practices.

Job Responsibilities:

• Assist in the design and development of training programs tailored to the specific needs of the surface and mill operations and maintenance, relevant regulations and industry best practices.
• Instruct engaging and interactive training sessions to employees, contractors, and stakeholders at various levels within the organization.
• Educate participants on hazard identification, risk assessment, and proper safety procedures to prevent accidents and injuries.
• Provide specialized training on safe operation and maintenance of mobile equipment and machinery.
• Assess the effectiveness of training programs through quizzes, tests, and feedback to measure participants' understanding and knowledge retention.
• Maintain accurate records of training sessions, attendance, and evaluation results.
• Promote a strong safety culture by encouraging proactive safety practices, reporting of safety concerns, and participation in safety initiatives.
• Identify opportunities for enhancing training effectiveness and safety procedures and contribute to the improvement of health and safety practices at the mine site.
• Attend safety meetings and workshops to reinforce safety messages and address specific safety‑related topics.
• Assist in monitoring compliance with health and safety training requirements and ensure that personnel receive necessary refresher training.
• Conduct health and safety orientation for new employees, contractors, and visitors to familiarize them with safety policies and procedures.
• Assist with the Health and Safety team in investigating incidents and accidents to identify root causes and recommend preventive measures as required.

Job Qualifications and Skills:

• Certification in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health, or a related discipline is preferred.
• 1–3 years of relevant work experience in a similar role in a mining setting.
• Possession of relevant health and safety certifications, such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Safety Trainer (CST), or Certified Health and Safety Technician (CHST) considered an asset.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential for conveying complex health and safety concepts in a clear and understandable manner during training sessions.
• The ability to deliver engaging and interactive training sessions to diverse audiences, using a variety of training techniques and materials.
• Proficiency in hazard identification and risk assessment techniques, enabling the trainer to effectively communicate potential risks and prevention strategies.
• Possess skillful presentation and public speaking abilities.
• Strong organizational skills to manage training materials, schedules, and participant records efficiently.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to interact with diverse groups of trainees, fostering a positive learning environment.
• The ability to address questions, concerns, and challenges during training sessions and provide practical solutions.
• Flexibility to adjust training content and delivery based on the needs of trainees and changes in health and safety regulations.

Compensation and Benefits:

We offer a competitive starting salary range of $90,000 – $105,000/year based on experience and qualifications. Annual discretionary short‑term incentive award at a percentage of base salary, rewarding exceptional contributions to team and company success.
