Lake Shore Gold Corp. seeks Heavy Equipment Mechanics for Timmins West Mine and Bell Creek Mine in Porcupine, ON. Earn $31.15–$51.75 per hour with a 5-5-4 rotation: 10-hour shifts, rotating days and nights weekly. Relocation to Timmins area required; this is a full-time position.

Responsibilities include maintaining the mobile heavy equipment fleet, troubleshooting, welding, fabrication and low voltage electrical repairs to ensure safe, reliable operation in a mining environment.

Qualifications

• Red Seal Certification or Registered Apprentice status.
• 5 years’ experience in industrial/mining environments.
• Welding certification and mining experience are assets.
• Basic UG Hard Rock Common Core.
• Eligible to work in Canada.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mobile heavy equipment.
• Perform cleaning, lubrication, inspection, and adjustments.
• Weld, fabricate, and perform low voltage electrical repairs.

About the Organization

Lake Shore Gold, a subsidiary of Pan American Silver, is located in Timmins, Ontario. The Bell Creek Complex located approximately 20 kilometers northeast of Timmins, Ontario, consists of an underground mine and processing facility. Mineralization is associated with the Porcupine-Destor fault system within the Abitibi greenstone belt, with ore mined by narrow vein longhole stoping methods. Ore is then transported to surface via a modern one thousand eighty metre deep shaft capable of forty-eight hundred tonnes per day. The Timmins West mine is located approximately 18 kilometers west of Timmins, Ontario, one of the world’s most prolific gold camps. Mineralization is associated with the Porcupine-Destor fault system within the Abitibi greenstone belt. The Timmins West mine is comprised of the Timmins deposit, the Thunder Creek deposit, and the 144 Gap deposit. All three deposits are interconnected by underground drifts. About The Opportunity

We are looking to hire Heavy Equipment Mechanics to join our team at the Timmins West Mine in Timmins, ON., and Bell Creek Mine in Porcupine, ON., on a full-time basis. The schedule for this position is a 5-5-4 rotation, 10-hour shifts rotating days and nights each week. In this position, you will safely and efficiently perform maintenance activities to preserve the condition of the mobile heavy equipment fleet in all areas of the mine: troubleshooting, cleaning, lubricating, adjusting, inspecting, repairing, component replacement & rebuild, welding, fabrication and low voltage electrical repairs of heavy equipment. Compensation: This position offers a salary range of $31.15 - $51.75/hr, based on qualifications and experience. Vacancy Status: This is an existing vacancy. The successful candidate may begin as soon as possible. Please note that this role requires relocation to the Timmins area and is not a camp-based position.
