Job summary

Lift Community Services in Powell River is seeking a dedicated Support Worker to assist tenants in a fast-paced housing environment. You will support daily living, encourage independence, and promote community connections while maintaining client confidentiality and ethical documentation.

Work collaboratively with housing, maintenance, janitorial, and kitchen staff to ensure a safe, respectful living space.

Qualifications

• High school completion required.
• At least 1 year of employment experience.
• Knowledge of Housing First and harm reduction.
• Familiarity with mental health, addiction services, and community resources.
• Vulnerable Sector Check or Criminal Record Check required.

Responsibilities

• Support tenants and guests with daily living and independence.

Location: Powell River/qathet Regional District

Schedule: As scheduled – (8am-8pm) and/or night shifts (8pm-8am)

Salary Or Wage: $29.76 – 31.64 per hour, plus applicable shift premiums

Start Date: As soon as possible

Working Condition and Physical Requirements

• 12-hour day and night shifts in a fast-paced supportive housing/shelter environment
• Attends to medical emergencies including overdoses, injuries, and mental health crises
• Regularly navigates stairs and uses industrial cleaning products and equipment
• Safely lifts up to 50lbs
• Collaborates as part of a team with high expectations for accountability, inclusivity, and respect
