Job summary

Vancouver Yaffa Housing Society in Vancouver is seeking a mature, responsible part-time aide to support residents in a mental health group home. 25 hours per week, Monday through Friday 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Duties include light meal prep, light cleaning, driving to appointments and outings, and engaging with residents one-to-one and in small groups. A valid driver''s license is required. The group home houses 14 individuals (currently 10 on-site).

PART TIME: 25 Hrs / week

Monday through Friday 9:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m.

Looking for motivated, personable individual to work part-time weekdays in a mental health group home.

Duties include light meal prep, light cleaning, driving to appointments, outings, activities, and generally engaging with residents on both a one-to-one and small group basis.

Clients are mostly independent and mobile, needing help with general day-to-day tasks including: appointment bookings, transfers, organizational, motivational, socializing, some self-care (eg. laundry), and medication reminders/witnessing (clients self-administer).

Society has own van however a valid driver's licence is required.

This group home is high-bar so no active addictions or aggressive clientele. We are long-term, not transitional housing, with capacity for 14 individuals (currently 10 on-site).

We are seeking a mature, responsible, patient, empathetic, and friendly individual who understands the importance of the motivational role in a mental health setting.

This is a largely independent working environment so candidate must be comfortable and confident while working solo with small groups of clients, while being adaptive and creative in their approach to the varying needs, personalities, and abilities of the dozen or so clients.
