Job summary

Community Living North Halton is seeking a dedicated team member to support individuals with disabilities in our Milton-based programs. The role involves facilitating daily activity schedules, implementing person-centered plans, and promoting community involvement.

Candidates must be physically active and able to participate in activities such as swimming and hiking. Responsibilities include collaborating with families, maintaining safety practices, and using Safe Management and NVCI techniques

Qualifications

• Diploma in Social Services or related degree; relevant experience preferred.
• Must have valid Ontario Driver’s License.
• Comfortable in a video monitored home environment.
• Experience supporting individuals with Autism / mental health disorders.
• Able to perform Safe Management and NVCI techniques.
• Willingness to travel across the Association.

• Knowledge and experience in supporting individuals with Autism / Dual Diagnosis / Mental Health disorders
• Able to support individuals in their daily physical activities – this position requires highly active individuals and to be comfortable in all activities (such as swimming; hiking; gymnastics)
• Demonstrated ability and willingness to drive any of the agency
• Demonstrated experience & flexibility in providing supports to individuals with challenging aggressive behaviors; ability to perform all techniques taught in Safe Management and NVCI
• Demonstrated commitment in implementing communication and behavioral support plans
• Demonstrated experience in Core Competencies
• Commitment in involving people to become more involved in their communities
• Experience & flexibility to work in different areas across the Association
