Job summary

Island Crisis Care Society is hiring a Support Worker for a full-time, on-site role in our community services team. The position focuses on providing professional, therapeutic support to vulnerable adults, helping with daily living skills, meals, safety, and activities aligned with individualized care plans.

The role requires a Diploma in a related human/social service field and at least one year of relevant experience, plus First Aid/CPR-C and related certifications.

Qualifications

• Diploma in a related human/social service field.
• Minimum 1 year recent related experience.
• Current standard first aid with CPR-C and related certifications (Naloxone, WHMIS 2015, Non-Violent Crisis Prevention).

Responsibilities

• Participate in assessment, goal setting and program planning for clients (Personal Service Plan).
• Assist with life skills training (meal prep, housekeeping, personal care, budgeting).
• Engage clients in activities aligned with care plans.
• Help residents function independently within housing and community.
• Provide emotional support to residents and families.
• Identify community services and liaise with agencies.
