Job summary

Rocky View Schools invites applications for the on-call, casual position of Support Substitute (Receptionist/Learning Commons Facilitator) for the 2026-2027 school year. Support substitutes are called to work on an as needed basis, at any of our schools.

You must be available to work throughout the 2026-2027 school year, be accessible by telephone and internet, and provide your own transportation. Interviews will be held in person or via Zoom on an as needed basis.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Office administration coursework considered an asset.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and web-based applications.

Responsibilities

• Provide receptionist duties and learning commons support as needed.
• Maintain a welcoming front office presence and assist staff and students as required.
• Assist with planning and supporting learning activities in the learning commons.

Education / Experience

Receptionist

• High school diploma
• Office administration coursework considered an asset
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and web-based applications

Learning Commons Facilitator

• High school diploma
• Diploma or undergraduate degree in Library Information Technology program, or related field considered an asset
• Previous office and library experience

Support Substitute Expectations

• No minimum day availability required to be a support substitute (Receptionist/Learning Commons Facilitator) with Rocky View Schools.
• No minimum geographical area required.

Pre-Employment Requirements

• Successful candidate(s) must submit a current Criminal Record with Vulnerable Sector Check within 30 days of the start of your employment.
• Proof of qualifications/education as required by the position.
• Applicants must provide a professional letter of reference, attached to the job application, from their most recent supervisor, relevant to the job opportunity, written on company letterhead, signed and dated within the past 18 months.
