Job summary

The University Health Network’s Princess Margaret Cancer Centre is seeking a dedicated Support Partner to assist direct patient caregivers and help manage clinic operations. The role includes setting up clinic areas, cleaning, disinfecting and sterilizing instruments, transporting X-rays and charts, and providing patient support to ensure a smooth, safe patient flow.

This permanent part-time position (0.5 FTE) reports to the Nurse Manager and offers a stable environment within a large teaching

Qualifications

• Secondary school diploma completed.
• Experience in housekeeping, portering or unit aide.
• Ability to lift heavy objects.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Good communication, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good organizational and time management abilities.
• Previous hospital experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist direct patient caregivers with clinic maintenance tasks.
• Set up clinic areas.
• Transport X-rays, charts, and other materials.

Wage Range: $26.44 – $28.50 per hour (start rate is non‑negotiable)

Hours: 0.5 FTE

Shifts: Days/Afternoons 0800-1600, 1100-1900

Status: Permanent Part Time

Position Summary

The Support Partner is a valuable member of our team, playing a critical role in assisting direct patient caregivers and managing the Clinic’s functionality.

Duties

• Provides assistance to direct patient caregivers through the performance of specific activities related to the maintenance of the Clinic, including cleaning, disinfecting and sterilizing instruments
• Setting up clinic areas
• Transporting X-rays, charts, etc.
• Patients support activities
• Environmental support activities
• Transportation support activities
• Other duties directly related with the proper maintenance of the Clinic

Qualifications

• Completion of a secondary school diploma program
• Experience with housekeeping, portering and/or unit aide
• Evidence of ability to lift heavy objects
• Good interpersonal and customer service skills
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as a team player
• Evidence of good independent initiative
• Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision
• Good organization and time management skills
• Previous Hospital experience
• Experience in a teaching hospital environment preferred
