Avon Maitland District School Board (AMDSB) is seeking qualified individuals to support students with diverse needs and provide age-appropriate learning environments for primary students.

Start Date: As soon as possible. Hours: Casual/Call-in, Monday–Friday, September to June (10 months). Compensation includes daily and long-term rates per the OSSTF-ESSP Collective Agreement.

Competenze

• Minimum two-year community college Early Childhood Education diploma (or in the final year)
• Active registration and in good standing with the Ontario College of Early Childhood Educators (or in process)
• Recent experience as an ECE in an Early Learning Centre or Day Care is an asset
• Demonstrated flexibility, patience, empathy and ability to work with diverse needs, classroom teacher, and Administration
• Ability to perform essential physical duties such as lifting, positioning and transferring children and equipment
• Access to reliable transportation and ability to attend schools with flexible availability on casual basis during day and with short notice
• Note – a Criminal Reference Check is part of the requirement process.

Hours of Work: Casual/Call-in basis, Monday - Friday, from September to June (10 months)

Compensation Package Details

Daily Rate: $25.03 per hour + vacation pay as outlined in the OSSTF-ESSP Collective Agreement

Long Term Assignment Rate: $26.80 per hour + vacation payas outlined in the OSSTF-ESSP Collective Agreement

Pension Plan : Defined pension plan through the Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement System (OMERS)

Core Responsibilities

• Partner with the classroom teacher to plan and implement a full-day early learning kindergarten program in a classroom setting.
• Design and implement age-appropriate activities tailored to early childhood development.
• Provide supervision and age-appropriate learning for groups of students as part of the extended day program, as required.
