The ideal candidate will play a critical role in managing supplier relationships, supporting contract requirements and deliverables, and leading negotiations for a wide range of procurement activities. Your expertise will directly contribute to our mission by ensuring we secure the best products and services, ranging from CubeSat subsystems valued at €10k to large-scale satellite-as-a-service contracts worth €10 million.

What You’ll Be Doing

  1. Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, serving as the primary point of contact for supplier communications.
  2. Manage the end-to-end procurement process, including sourcing, negotiating, and executing contracts for satellite subsystems and satellite-as-a-service solutions.
  3. Maintain procurement records, including contract agreements, proposals, and performance evaluations, ensuring compliance with company guidelines and industry standards.
  4. Work collaboratively with engineering and project management teams to define specifications, requirements, and deliverables for procurements.
  5. Ensure adherence to budgetary restrictions and strive for cost optimization without compromising on quality and performance.
  6. Monitor market trends and supplier performance to facilitate continuous improvement in procurement activities.
  7. Conduct risk management for supply contracts and agreements, anticipating and mitigating potential issues.
  8. Demonstrate strong knowledge of cross-border shipping and logistics regulations, including International Traffic in Arms Regulations, Export Administration Regulations, Canada’s Controlled Goods Program, Canada’s Export and Import Permits Act, Canada’s Customs Act, and any other relevant import/export compliance frameworks.
  9. Effectively manage restricted item procurement, tariff classification, and shipping component logistics across international borders.
Relevant Skills

  1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Administration, Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  2. Proven experience as a Supply Chain Manager, Procurement Specialist, or in a similar role, preferably in the aerospace, satellite communication, or technology sectors.
  3. Experience in cross-border shipping and procurement of restricted items.
  4. Strong negotiation skills and experience managing complex contracts ranging from small-scale purchases to multi-million-euro agreements.
  5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across diverse teams.
  6. Proficient in procurement software and tools, as well as MS Office Suite.
  7. Understanding of the technical aspects of satellites/cube satellites and the aerospace industry would be a significant asset.
  8. Fluency in English is mandatory; proficiency in German or French is a plus.
  9. Willingness and ability to travel regularly to offices in Germany, the United States, and Greece to collaborate with cross-functional teams and peers across OroraTech.
We Offer

At OroraTech, you can expect a down-to-earth yet high-caliber work environment. You will be part of the OroraTech team - a talented, international, and open-minded team that is highly motivated to create impact. OroraTech allows you to grow on a professional and personal level.

  1. You have the opportunity to become part of our firefighting mission from space and deliver the tools to better cope with natural disasters and mitigate climate change - could a job be any cooler?
  2. You will gain insights into the most exciting new technologies and business models.
  3. You will get to sign a satellite that launches in a year.
If you apply: We value well-crafted motivation letters stating how you learned about OroraTech, why you think you would be a great addition to the team, and why you want to work at a NewSpace start-up.
