Position Overview

We are seeking a forward-thinking, highly analytical Supply Chain Manager to oversee and optimize end-to-end supply chain operations within our manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will combine deep expertise in global and regional metals procurement with sophisticated logistics management. Crucially, this role requires a professional who leverages modern AI technology capabilities—such as predictive analytics for forecasting, automated sourcing algorithms, and AI-driven inventory optimization to build an agile, resilient, and cost-effective supply chain ecosystem.

Strategic Metals Procurement:

• Lead category management, strategic sourcing, and contract negotiations for raw metals (including steel, aluminum, and alloys). Monitor global metals indexes (LME, COMEX), hedging strategies, and market trends to mitigate price volatility and secure optimal material availability.

Logistics & Distribution Optimization:

• Oversee inbound and outbound freight operations, international logistics, customs compliance, and 3PL/4PL partner performance. Continuously optimize distribution routes and carrier selections to reduce transit times and operational costs.
• Champion the implementation and utilization of artificial intelligence and advanced analytics tools within the supply chain. Leverage AI-driven demand forecasting, predictive risk analysis, and machine-learning workflows to drive proactive decision-making and eliminate bottlenecks.

Inventory & Production Planning:

• Collaborate with production planners and operations teams to maintain balanced raw material, WIP, and finished goods inventory levels using Just-In-Time (JIT) and automated replenishment methodologies.
• Develop and maintain highly collaborative partnerships with global metals mills, distributors, and logistics providers. Implement AI-supported supplier scorecards to track quality, on-time delivery (OTIF), and compliance.

Systems Management:

• Manage daily supply chain operations via the company’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) platform, maintaining high data integrity for accurate demand planning and execution tracking.

Qualifications & Experience

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related technical discipline.

Experience:

• 5+ years of progressive experience in supply chain management specifically within a heavy or precision manufacturing environment.
• Proven track record in raw metals procurement, deep knowledge of metallurgy supply chains, market price levers, and strategic supplier networks.

Technical Capabilities:

• Hands-on experience or certified proficiency in utilizing AI/ML tools, predictive forecasting software, advanced data analytics platforms (e.g., PowerBI, Tableau), or automated material planning engines.

ERP Systems:

• Demonstrated experience working within enterprise-grade ERP environments. Strong knowledge or working experience with Infor CloudSuite is considered a highly valuable asset.

Certifications:

• Professional designations such as CSCP, CPIM, or CPSM are strongly preferred.
