Job Description

As part of Vention's Procurement team, you will be operating a global procurement network made of hundreds of suppliers and 2,000+ SKUs. You will be responsible for executing tactical, strategic and development activities to promote a competitive advantage for Vention and support customer-driven needs. More specifically, you will:

• Execute the overall purchasing process from preparation and execution of tenders to order fulfillment including screening of purchasing requisitions and issuance of purchase orders.
• Develop, issue and analyze comprehensive RFx.
• Manage PO’s and suppliers to ensure timely deliveries and quality compliance.
• Ensure effective engagement, collaboration, and cooperation with internal clients and suppliers.
• Identify and evaluate areas of opportunity for cost reduction.
• Perform Total Cost of Ownership evaluations and supply-market research.
• Engage with key partners to establish deep supplier relationships.
• Understand competitive landscape and market trends to identify business opportunities.
• Lead vendor, contract, and parts negotiations.
• Execute sourcing strategies and procurement plans to support Vention’s corporate and internal client’s strategies and objectives.
• Work collaboratively with internal clients, functional SMEs, and suppliers to define requirements, timing and scope.

Qualifications

• You have a degree in electrical, mechanical or industrial engineering.
• You bring 3+ years’ experience in a global procurement position.
• You have excellent communication skills and the ability to work in interdisciplinary teams.
• You have a firm understanding of procurement processes and corporate governance principles.
• You have excellent organizational skills and pay close attention to details. Your work is always up to date.
• You have a strong ability to build and maintain relationships, internally and externally.
• You have a passion for negotiations and the ability to develop fact-based recommendations to internal stakeholders.
• You showed the ability to work in a fast-paced (next day deliveries) and high volume (parcel shipments) environment with energy and enthusiasm.
• You possess business savvy with excellent problem-solving techniques and methods to understand cost breakdowns and associated cost drivers of manufacturing processes.
• You have an interest in engineering topics and are curious to learn more.
• Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is an asset.
• APICS or SCMP certification is an asset.
