Director – Supply Chain

Location: Greater Vancouver Region, British Columbia

Lock Search Group is supporting a national leader in the Food Manufacturing sector to expand their leadership team. Cameron Lappin of Lock Search Group has been retained to support this key search for their Director of Supply Chain. Our client seeks a proven leader within the CPG manufacturing sector, who excels in collaborative environments.

Reporting to the executive team, you will oversee the expansion and ongoing development of operations. The ideal candidate will possess high emotional intelligence and superb communication skills to achieve innovative, ambitious goals. Responsibilities include overseeing procurement, demand planning, production, and operations.

Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate business savvy and operational expertise within the CPG sector, preferably food manufacturing.
  • Build strong relationships and partner with diverse leadership teams; internal stakeholder management is essential.
  • Manage complex strategic plans, production objectives, KPIs, budgets, and long-term planning.
  • Ensure production requirements are met while maintaining fiscal discipline and quality standards.
  • Lead logistics and operational policies focusing on efficiency, material usage, safety, employee relations, and performance metrics.
  • Oversee inventory and distribution planning, ensuring effective management and logistics cost control.
  • Review third-party contracts and tenders, ensuring proper financial controls.
  • Recruit, train, develop, and motivate team members through regular reviews and structured training.
  • Collaborate across teams and business units to achieve operational objectives.
Desired Skills and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Commerce, or Operations Management; MBA preferred.
  • 5-7+ years of leadership in manufacturing or operations within a quality-focused CPG environment, preferably food.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strategic thinker with innovative and collaborative mindset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems.
  • Proven success in leading manufacturing operations and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Strong project management and financial analysis skills.
  • Experience in building and developing high-performing teams.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
