As a Director, Supply Chain, you will be responsible for leading distribution, transportation, and planning teams within the Canadian supply chain organization. This role focuses on strategic planning, distribution expertise, and managing strategic relationships to develop innovative, cost-effective, and scalable systems and processes.
Responsibilities
- Planning & Execution
- Develop and execute strategic and operational plans aligned with business objectives, ensuring measurable results and continuous improvement.
- Establish and implement a Canadian supply chain strategy in partnership with U.S. counterparts.
- Oversee distribution network optimization and design long-term strategies for future business needs.
- Stay ahead of industry trends and emerging technologies.
- Lead development of innovative supply chain strategies aligned with growth objectives across North America.
- Develop inventory planning strategies to balance supply and demand, reduce excess stock, and improve service levels.
- Manage department operations to align with corporate goals.
- Develop communication strategies for policy changes.
- Ensure alignment with third-party distribution and transportation partners.
- Create standardized processes, tools, and training programs.
- Manage resources for product launches and transitions.
- Business Requirements
- Lead strategic sourcing, vendor management, and contract negotiations.
- Design and implement distribution network models supporting growth and capacity planning.
- Manage an annual budget exceeding $80M, including contracts and strategic partnerships.
- Own inventory planning and optimization, minimizing costs and enhancing service levels.
- Collaborate across functions on inventory management to meet business needs.
- Develop long-term strategic plans for logistics, distribution, and inventory planning.
- Lead cross-functional projects ensuring alignment with business goals.
- Build and manage a high-performing supply chain team.
- Champion best practices in project and program management.
- Leadership
- Set goals, define responsibilities, and foster a culture of accountability.
- Implement company programs aligned with corporate goals.
- Advise senior leadership on budgeting and strategic initiatives.
- Encourage innovation and organizational evolution.
- Build influential relationships across teams and leadership.
- Partner Development & Team Building
- Inspire partners to achieve results.
- Conduct performance reviews and ensure compliance.
- Oversee training, development, and staffing decisions.
- Provide coaching and leadership support.
- Qualifications
- 10+ years in strategic supply chain planning, third-party logistics, and inventory management.
- Experience with warehouse and system implementations.
- Proven ability to manage budgets over $80M.
- Strong negotiation, strategic planning, and cross-functional project management skills.
- Broad knowledge of company operations, policies, and procedures.
