Job summary

Canpotex in Saskatoon is seeking a Supply Chain Coordinator to join our Rail team. You will coordinate logistics for potash by rail, liaising with mines, railways and terminals to ensure timely, cost-efficient movement from Saskatchewan to North American ports.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree and 2–3 years in supply chain, plus strong Excel and data reconciliation skills. Experience with rail operations is an asset.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Business or related field.
  • Minimum two to three years’ experience in a supply chain role.
  • Experience in rail operations and/or logistics is an asset.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate logistics of potash via railcars from Saskatchewan mines to port facilities.
  • Liaise with mines, railways, and terminals to ensure efficient movement of goods.
  • Monitor and address supply chain deviations to maintain fluid operations.
  • Collaborate with producers, terminals, and railways to resolve issues.
  • Perform inventory checks and support reconciliation processes.

We are looking for a Supply Chain Coordinator to join our Rail team in Saskatoon!

Headquartered in Saskatoon with three international offices, Canpotex is one of the world's largest suppliers of potash overseas. On behalf of our Shareholders, Mosaic and Nutrien, we market and deliver Saskatchewan potash, a valuable fertilizer nutrient, to millions of fields and farmers globally - ultimately helping the world grow more food.

The Opportunity:
  • Responsible for the logistics and distribution processes of potash via railcars, ensuring timely, cost-effective movement from Saskatchewan mines to ocean-going vessels at multiple North American load ports.
  • Actively liaises and communicates with all stakeholders including mines, railways, and terminals to ensure efficient movement of potash across the supply chain.
  • Proactively monitor and addresses supply chain deviations to maintain mine, rail network and terminal fluidity.
  • Regularly collaborate with mine producers, terminals, and railways to resolve any operational issues and ensure smooth operations.
  • Execute timely inventory checks and support the reconciliation process.
  • Maintain detailed records to evaluate and improve railway performance and service levels.
  • Assist in gathering data and supporting both internal and external audits to ensure compliance and accuracy.
You’ll Bring:
  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Business or a related field.
  • Minimum two to three years’ experience in a supply chain role.
  • Experience in rail operations and/or logistics is an asset.
  • Computer skills to maintain databases and spreadsheets including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Problem-Solving: Ability to take ownership of responsibilities, manage operational information with accuracy and integrity, identifying potential risks, and exercise sound judgement regarding when issues should be escalated.
  • Flexibility & Responsiveness: Ability to respond effectively to changing priorities, operational disruptions, and evolving business needs while developing practical solutions to support operational objectives.
