Sandvik is hiring a Warehouse Technician to support warehouse operations at mine sites in British Columbia. You will receive, store, track and ship materials, enabling site teams to operate smoothly.

A two-weeks-on/two-weeks-off rotation provides on-site exposure with two full weeks off between rotations. Requirements include a high school diploma, 1+ year warehouse experience, forklift operation, and experience with computerized inventory systems.

You will receive, store, track and ship the materials that keep site teams supplied and mining operations moving, while gaining firsthand exposure to how a mine-site warehouse operates.

If you have warehouse or inventory experience, are comfortable operating a forklift, and enjoy organized, practical work, this could be your opportunity to bring those skills into the mining industry. The two-weeks-on/two-weeks-off rotation gives you focused time on site followed by two full weeks off.

What you will be doing

• Receive, inspect and audit incoming materials to ensure inventory records are accurate.

• Prepare shipping and receiving schedules to keep goods moving efficiently and warehouse space well organized.
• Help maintain effective operating procedures, space utilization, facilities and equipment.

• Support customer on-call services as required.
• Take on other duties that support safe and efficient warehouse operations.

• Comply with Sandvik safety policies and applicable government, customer, and industry regulations or requirements.
• Identify and report unsafe work habits, workplace incidents, and near misses. Perform risk assessments (Take Five) before each task.
• Maintain an orderly work area and ensure housekeeping requirements are met.
• Attend Environmental, Health and Safety related training.
• Wear the required personal protective equipment (PPE) assigned for each task.

What you will bring along

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of one (1) year of warehouse or inventory experience.
• Previous experience in mining operations is an asset but is not required.
• Experience operating a forklift is required.
• Experience using computerized inventory management systems.
• Ability to work independently and as part of an integrated team.
• Detail-oriented with good time management and organizational skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
• Valid driver's licence in good standing.
