Job summary

Brandt Group of Companies in Surrey, BC, is seeking a Foreman to coordinate and direct the workload of the Service Department for maximum efficiency and quality repair work. The successful candidate will advise the Service Manager on technician skills and training needs.You will supervise technicians, maintain an organized work environment, mentor staff, ensure customer service and profitability, and manage on-call field schedules, communication with customers, and warranty work orders.

Qualifications

• Heavy equipment experience is preferred.
• Journeyman certification in heavy-duty equipment technician trade or equivalent is required.
• Experience in a service department setting is ideal.
• Familiarity with John Deere and competitive products is preferred.
• Forklift license is a plus.
• Strong organizational and communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and direct workload of the Service Department for efficiency and quality repair work.
• Supervise the work of Service Technicians.
• Maintain an organized, clean work environment.
• Advise and mentor Technicians on skills and training needs.
• Communicate effectively with customers, service team and branch personnel.
• Establish and maintain an on-call field schedule.
• Engage with customers and operators via phone, email or in person.
• Help manage costs and department profitability.
• Open and close work orders, including warranty preparation.

Education

Certified Journeyman in the Heavy Duty Equipment technician trade or equivalent designated trade

Brandt Tractor Ltd is currently seeking a Foreman reporting to our Surrey location. The successful applicant for this position is responsible for assisting with coordinating and directing the workload of the Service Department for maximum efficiency and productivity while providing quality repair work; advise and make recommendations to the Service Manager regarding technician skills and training needs.

What You Will Be Responsible For

• Responsible for the organization of the work performed as well as quality control
• Supervise the work of Service Technicians
• Maintain an organized clean work environment
• Advise and mentor Technicians
• Commitment to customer service, service excellence and ability to communicate and work effectively with customers, the service team and other branch personnel
• Establish & maintain an on call field schedule
• Converse with the customers & operators on the phone, email or in person
• Manage costs and ensure profitability of the department
• Opening and closing work orders, preparing work orders for warranty

What We Look For

• Previous mechanical experience in a heavy equipment environment is an asset
• Certified Journeyman in the Heavy Duty Equipment technician trade or equivalent designated trade
• Experience in a service department setting
• Familiarity with John Deere and competitive products preferred
• Forklift license preferred
• Strong organizational skills
• Basic Microsoft Office skills required
• Candidates must be willing to be available after-hours
• Ability to lead others
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
