Job summary

Raytheon ELCAN in Midland, Ontario is seeking a Supervisor to join our Rifle Sight Assembly team. In this role, you will lead and motivate a team, support core safety and quality methodologies, and ensure adherence to operating procedures. You will also manage performance and find innovative ways to enhance operations.

Candidates should have a Post-Secondary education in STEM or equivalent experience, along with strong leadership and communication skills. Salary range is between 65,000CAD and 107,800CAD, with benefits including medical coverage, tuition assistance, and incentive compensation.

Qualifications

  • Completion of Post-Secondary education in STEM or 5–10 years of equivalent work experience.
  • Prior supervisory experience is considered an asset.
  • Strong understanding of supervisory responsibilities within the Occupational Health & Safety Act.

Job description

We are looking for a Supervisor to join our Rifle Sight Assembly team at Raytheon ELCAN in Midland, Ontario. The Supervisor will assist the Senior Supervisor and support core Raytheon ELCAN methodologies and operating systems, including KPIs for people, safety, quality, schedule and cost.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Share in the commitment towards a positive workplace culture
  • Lead while focusing on the core Raytheon ELCAN professional values of respect, trust, and team collaboration
  • Support Raytheon ELCAN CORE methodologies and Operating systems (KPIs) for people, safety, quality, schedule and cost
  • Evaluate and identify unique ways to improve the organization—cost reductions, efficient use of resources, and new ideas or techniques
  • Performance management and employee development responsibilities
  • Ensure the floor has adequate tools, product, parts, chemicals, work instructions, etc. for smooth, consistent operation
  • Initiate quality investigations when appropriate
  • Coach and mentor Group Leads as needed
  • Report to the Rifle Sights Senior Supervisor
  • Ensure standard operating procedures and processes are adhered to
  • Provide feedback to the Senior Supervisor regarding the performance of group members
  • Coordinate operations and activities within or between departments and create solutions to complex problems
  • Assist with maintaining a structured work environment that benefits employees and customers, ensuring efficiency and productivity
  • Ensure compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act for all groups in Rifle Sights
  • Apply the CORE continuous improvement process
  • Plan and coordinate resources and activities within the team and other departments as required
  • Lead and motivate a team of individuals
  • Motivate the team in the face of inevitable delays, setbacks, or policy shifts
Qualifications & Experience
  • Completion of Post‑Secondary education in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Manufacturing) or 5–10years of equivalent work experience
  • Ontario Secondary School Diploma
  • Prior supervisory experience (considered an asset)
  • Previous responsibility for safety, quality, schedule and cost in an AS9100 factory environment
  • Post‑secondary diploma/degree in an applicable discipline (considered an asset)
  • Strong leadership and motivational skills
  • Highly effective communication skills at all organizational levels
  • Proven ability to solve technical problems and make sound decisions
  • Willingness to learn and acquire knowledge through study, instruction or experience
  • Intermediate knowledge of computer systems and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting company policies and procedures
  • Evidence of self‑motivation and an excellent work ethic
  • Strong ability to follow rules/requirements, including Environmental, Health & Safety, and Raytheon ELCAN policies
  • Proven experience and knowledge of CORE principles, production systems and team member roles and responsibilities
  • Demonstrated core professional values of respect, trust, and team collaboration
  • Experience with CORE continuous improvement process
  • Strong understanding of supervisory responsibilities within the Occupational Health & Safety Act
  • Ability to acquire and retain knowledge through study, instruction or experience
  • Must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident with a minimum of five consecutive years of residence in Canada (required for security clearance)

Salary range: 65,000CAD – 107,800CAD.
