Job summary

Coke Canada Bottling in Montreal's Lachine facility seeks a Quality Supervisor to lead the Laboratory and Syrup Room teams, ensuring food safety, regulatory compliance, and product quality. The role collaborates with Production, Maintenance and Engineering to maintain certifications and drive continuous improvement.

Reporting to the Plant Quality Manager, the incumbent will oversee quality documentation, audits and water treatment systems, with an evening shift from 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in a scientific field.
• Strong planning, decision-making and organizational skills.
• Experience with ISO standards (ISO 9001, HACCP).
• Experience in a unionized manufacturing environment is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Laboratory and Syrup Room teams (about 19 employees) including scheduling and training.
• Ensure packaging materials, finished products, and processes meet standards and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor processes, perform inspections, adjust parameters, and troubleshoot with Production and Maintenance teams.
• Support quality KPIs related to yield, downtime and efficiency.
• Manage non-conforming products and supplier/customer complaints and investigations.
• Contribute to root-cause analyses and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Develop and implement quality procedures and audit programs.

About This Opportunity

In a production environment where food safety, regulatory compliance, and product consistency are critical, the Quality Supervisor plays a central role. This individual ensures process rigor, supports operational teams, and ensures that every product meets the highest quality and food safety standards. As a team leader, they actively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, risk prevention, and the maintenance of the plant’s certifications.

The Quality Supervisor reports directly to the Plant Quality Manager and is responsible for all quality and food safety activities within the facility. This individual oversees the Laboratory and Syrup Room teams, ensures compliance with internal and external standards, and works closely with Production, Maintenance, and Engineering to maintain operational excellence and regulatory compliance.

*** Evening Shift – Monday to Friday, 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM ***

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support the Laboratory and Syrup Room teams (approximately 19 employees), including scheduling, attendance management, staffing, training, performance evaluations, and employee development within a unionized environment.
• Ensure the quality of packaging materials, finished products, and manufacturing processes (mixing, filling, and packaging) to meet company standards, specifications, regulatory requirements, and operational objectives.
• Monitor production processes, conduct inspections, adjust process parameters as needed, and troubleshoot process-related issues in collaboration with Production and Maintenance teams.
• Support operational efficiency and key performance indicators related to quality, yield, and production downtime.
• Manage non-conforming products and supplier complaints, and support the investigation and follow-up of customer and consumer complaints.
• Participate in root cause analyses, continuous improvement projects, and the qualification of equipment, processes, and suppliers.
• Develop, update, and implement operational procedures while ensuring compliance of quality documentation.
• Conduct internal audits (quality, food safety, health and safety, and environmental) and ensure adherence to company policies, collective agreements, and applicable standards.
• Ensure the proper operation of quality control equipment, as well as the management of water treatment and wastewater systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or post-secondary diploma, preferably in a scientific discipline.
• Strong planning, decision-making, and organizational skills.
• Dynamic, proactive, resilient, and solution-oriented mindset.
• Experience working in an ISO-certified environment.
• Knowledge of and experience with FSSC 22000 standards and HACCP systems.
• Proven ability to solve problems collaboratively in a team environment.
• Experience in a unionized environment is considered an asset.
• Knowledge of water treatment systems within the food or beverage industry.
• Experience with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a unionized manufacturing and production environment, including at least two (2) years of direct supervisory experience leading a team.
• Basic computer skills, including experience using databases.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Fluency in French (required); knowledge of English is considered an asset.
